F.A.Q.

Q: How is coaching different than therapy?

A: I'm glad you asked! I've been a psychotherapist in private practice since 2011 and while I love my practice and working in that role, I've also found myself wanting to work in a more directive, solution focused way. Coaching is more geared toward people with clear goals who want a more educational and directive approach than you would find in a typical therapy session.

Q: How do I know if I'm a good candidate for coaching?

A: Coaching is best suited for clients with clear, identifiable goals and "blocks" that can be addressed with lifestyle and behavioral changes. As a coach my focus is solution focused and is best for clients who are not currently being affected by major depression, anxiety or other mental health challenges. For clients who are experiencing more intense symptoms, I may refer them to a therapist to work with instead of or in conjunction with coaching.

Q: What is sex coaching?

A: In my work as a sex educator and a sex-positive therapist, I am struck with the amount of shame and misinformation that many people carry about sex and sexuality. Sex coaching helps address "blocks", teaches communication skills to use with current and future partners about sexual needs and preferences, and helps clients who are in long-term relationships identify and address causes of decline in sexual activity. Education on sex-positivity and radical self-acceptance are integral to this work. Sex coaching is available to individuals and people in all forms of relationships.

Q: How long does coaching last?

A: It depends! Some goals can be met within 5-8 sessions, some folks like to keep me "on call" or work with me on an ongoing basis as goals change and evolve. Coaching can last as long as you are finding it to be positively affecting your life!

Q: How much does coaching cost?

A: My coaching fees are the same as my fees for my therapy practice, $125 per 50 minute session.
